The Memphis Belle is one of the most famous B-17s of WWII. After completing 25 missions over Europe, she and her crew toured the US raising funds for War Bonds. She was subsequently designated a national historic treasure by the U.S. Air Force. Immortalised in film in 1943 and 1990, the very name Memphis Belle recalls the days when brave young men fought for freedom in the skies of war-torn Europe.
