The guide covers the main processes involved in IT Security Management, primarily within the context of ITIL Service Management, but also within the context of BS ISO/IEC 17799:2000 code of practice and BS7799-2:2002 Specification for information security management systems. In addition the pocket guide introduces a framework for IT Security Risk Assessment and Risk Management based upon BSI guidelines. The pocket guide is not intended to replace the publications it is based upon. The advice contained within it is neither definitive nor prescriptive, but is a set of guidelines based on ITIL and BSI best practice.
