Hieronder een overzicht van certificeringen voor developers met een beschrijving en de bijbehorende funcie van de verschillende certificeringen.
Nieuw voor developers zijn de certificeringen Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) en Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD).
Daarnaast zijn er nog de classic-certificeringen Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) en Microsoft Certified Solution Developer for .NET (MCSD).
