Hieronder een overzicht van certificeringen voor IT-Professionals met een beschrijving en de bijbehorende funcie van de verschillende certificeringen.
Nieuw voor IT-Professionals zijn de certificeringen Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) en Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
Daarnaast zijn er nog de classic-certificeringen Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) en Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
